Deepen Your Knowledge Of Yoga Beyond The Mat

This is an online video course I created to bring the origin and evolution of Yoga to the seekers of truth all over the world. No baseless theories such as Yoga is a 5,000 years old tradition or it is Hinduism in disguise.

This course is a must for Yoga practitioners, teachers, enthusiasts and academics as well as anyone interested in knowing more about the history of Yoga.

I trace the origin and evolution of Yoga from prehistoric to modern times in this online video course. The narrative is an interesting mix of historical facts, nuggets of philosophy and symbolic Yogic tales. It is a six-hour long course, but I am sure you will enjoy every frame of it. The course is divided into videos of around 10 minutes each for your convenient viewing. There is a short test after each module to make sure you are learning, growing and having fun doing so 🙂 Once you pay and register, you will get unlimited access to the course. Which means, you can watch it on your smart phone or tablet or computer anytime, anywhere!

This course challenges many common and deep-routed misconceptions about Yoga and induces many “a ha” moments. I explore issues such as how old is the Yogic tradition, is Yoga Hindu religion in disguise, why so many different interpretations of Yogic texts exist and where is Yoga going in the modern world.

You will also get glimpses of some of the ancient texts of India such as the Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and BhagavadGita. This course will introduce you to a few Yogis of ancient as well as modern times. I discuss the influence the West has had on how Yoga is perceived and also included a section on how Yoga influenced western minds, especially those of western scientists.

I am a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500, CEP registered yoga teacher. This course qualifies for six non-contact hours of RYT continuing education credit.

It is very interesting to note how Yoga is bringing men and women of all backgrounds together in the spirit of one global family.

No prerequisites are needed for this course except an open heart and inquisitive mind.
